We do our best to keep our readers informed on the latest and greatest in registry cleaning software. When a user sent us an email to review Registry Easy, we were thinking "here we go again... another registry cleaner that is going to be sub-par". When we landed on the homepage of Registry Easy, an award-winning windows registry cleaner, we were mightily impressed. The Registry Easy staff certainly knows how to market their product! Unlike most registry cleaner websites, Registry Easy's was a wealth of information! However, a nice homepage trying to pitch a product does not a good product make! That's were we step in. We cut through all the marketing BS and propaganda and give you an honest and unbiased opinion. So, without further delay let's rip into Registry Easy and see how it stacks up!

Maybe it's the color scheme, or perhaps it's the general layout. Maybe it's a combination of the both. Whatever it is, we love Registry Easy's interface! It's just clean and effective. It doesn't rely on big obnoxious icons nor does it rely on a palette that looks like it fell into a rainbow. The cool blue colors are soothing and calming, just what you need when tinkering with the registry (which is often a scary proposition). Navigation is easy, with menu buttons left-aligned and clearly labeled. It's similar to the design of RegCure, but cleaner and easier on the eyes. Unlike Registry Mechanic, clicking menu buttons won't change the general interface. When you click into a new menu button, the main content window will change to reflect the options that are available for that menu choice. It makes complete sense and keeps the learning curve low.

So far, this is our favorite interface, a step ahead of RegCure and Registry Fix and leaps and bounds better than Registry Mechanic.

After fiddling with the interface, we were excited to check out the features. We've already been left with very good impressions from a visual and marketing standpoint, but what about the most important part? What about the features and functionality? Here we go.

Registry optimization
This is a feature casual users and novice users will appreciate. With one click Registry Easy will attempt to optimize your computer's start, shutdown, network, IE, and display to increase system speed.

Backup and Undo
Like others, Registry Easy allows for registry back-up. Backups act as added insurance in the case a new application installation causes the registry to become unstable. You can rollback to a previously working version of the registry. One nice aspect about Registry Easy's backup utility is that you can set a Windows Restore Point, a lifesaver if your system ever crashes and burns!

Smart Update
The application is web-centric and will perform smart updates on its own, ensuring you always have the latest software version.

Browser HOM Manager
Something that is included in Registry Fix, the Browser Helper Object Manager allows you to manage all of your Internet Explorer objects.

History records cleaner
Now this is cool! With Registry Easy you can protect your privacy by completely cleaning your history records. It's a pretty cool feature and a welcome addition to the application.

On par with most other registry cleaners, Registry Easy scans for a slew of registry and system problems that can bog down your speed.

Overall, Registry Easy seemed to cover almost every base when it comes to features. A built-in scheduler is the only thing we would like to see added.

Performance was stellar, surprisingly so when we were performing a deep scan on an old clunker test system. The scan brought back a surprising 1120 results, the second highest total we've encountered by a registry cleaning scan yet! Cleaning the issues was as easy as any other registry cleaning application. We simply clicked the "repair" button and watched as Registry Easy performed its magic.

Speaking of test systems, we just want to give a shout-out and a thank you to the good folks over at the shopping comparison website Save Crazy. We've received emails from readers asking "where do you get your testing systems from?" They're donated by Save Crazy. Apparently they buy their own equipment for their staff rather than lease it (like many companies do). When they replace the systems, they donate the old ones. We were able to get our hands on a few. So, kudos to Save Crazy! Show them your support by visiting their site and making a purchase.

Our only complaint here is with the lack of detailed information provided for each registry and system error encountered. Casual users may be left scratching their heads and in fear of pressing that "repair" button to clean up all the issues found. The backup and restore points do provide some safety nets though. During our test we cleaned every issue Registry Easy found and it cleaned them all. On our subsequent boot the system was noticeably faster, especially in the booting of the operating system. Registry Easy did its job and it did it well!

Registry Easy has a solid support network, starting with their online center of Frequently Asked Questions and their answers. If you still don't find what you need, you can contact their support department directly from their website or directly through the application (a nice touch). They also publish an informative blog with details about Registry Easy and general registry information.

The lack of a live chat or 800 number are the first two strikes again their support. Sometimes you just NEED to speak to a live representative and with Registry Easy it's not an option. The third strike, and the most severe, is based on actually customer feedback. We've been told by several users that the support can sometimes be slow and not always the most helpful. We've not experienced this first-hand, but we trust our readers and their experiences.

With it's beautiful interface, robust feature list, and outstanding performance, Registry Easy comes away as a close... VERY close second just a hair behind RegCure. It's a brilliant application that casual users may find to be better than RegCure, but the opinion of power users may differ. Either way, it's an excellent application that is worthy of your attention.
